Report: The CW Orders Pilots For Carrie Diaries, Beauty & The Beast

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and The CityCarrie Bradshaw could be heading back to television. The CW has ordered a pilot for The Carrie Diaries, Access Hollywood has confirmed. The Carrie Diaries book series from Candace Bushnell focus on a younger, late teenaged Carrie, who is finishing her last year of high school. It was not clear if the new show would feature Carries later-in-life Sex and The City best friends, including Samantha Jones, who was featured in Summer and the City: A Carrie Diaries Novel, or Miranda Hobbes, who was also in the book, which was released in April 2011. In related news, The CW also confirmed a pilot order for Beauty and the Beast. The 1980s-90s television series originally starred Linda Hamilton and Sons of Anarchys Ron Perlman.
